At Innovative Behavior Options, we love to celebrate accomplishments and big moments with both our clients and our staff. Whether it’s a client saying a new word or a family accomplishing a tantrum-free errand, we’re here applauding you. This month, we want to say a big congratulations and thank you to a dedicated, hard working registered behavior technician (RBT), Amanda, as we celebrate her 10 great years with us at IBO.
Get to Know Amanda – Roswell ABA Therapy Center Staff Spotlight
Can you tell us a little about yourself?
Hi! My name is Amanda, and I have been with IBO for 10 years now. Prior to starting IBO, I earned my bachelor’s degree in Behavior Analysis in Savannah, GA.
Currently, I’m an RBT working one-on-one with clients in their homes and at school.
What does a typical day look like for you?
I usually wake up at 6:30am to get to my morning client by 8:30 am. I have a little break around 2pm in between sessions, and I like to spend it with my dog before going to see my next client. After work, I like to go to the gym for yoga class.
What interested you initially about this type of work?
Growing up I wanted to be a pediatrician, and when I graduated college, I still really wanted to work with kids. Finding a field where I can work in early intervention was a perfect fit.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
The most rewarding part of my job is seeing the kiddos I work with learn and grow. Seeing them apply the skills I taught them to everyday life brings me joy. I feel youthful when I’m around my clients, and it gives me so much life.
What is the best part of your week?
I love my job, and to be my best at it, I really prioritize sleep. It gives me the energy I need to keep up with my young, energetic clients.

What causes are you passionate about?
I am passionate about mental health, lupus, and homelessness with kids. Our kids are the future, and we want to give them every opportunity in life even if they may already be handed out disadvantages.
What puts a smile on your face?
Seeing others smile puts a smile on my face. A smile is really contagious, and you never know whose day you’re making with a small kind gesture or a smile.
