At Innovative Behavior Options, we know that our team is invaluable. It’s these caring, professional, and talented Applied Behavior Analysis therapists that allow our clients to have so much success! We’ve been introducing you to some of our all-star therapists over the last couple months because we believe in-home and center-based ABA therapy can be more effective and more fun when you get to know the team.
So, today on the blog, we’d like you to meet ABA therapist Daisha Cartwright!
Can you tell us a little about yourself?
My nickname is Daisy. A high school teacher gave it to me kind of on accident, and it just stuck! I moved to Georgia from Oklahoma about 3 years ago, and I absolutely love it here. My bachelor’s degree is in Psychology, and I love making connections with people I meet. I have been part of the IBO team since January 2019.
I am passionate about helping children on the Autism spectrum, which is why I recently started grad school to further my education in the field of behavior analysis.
What’s the most interesting thing you’ve learned recently?
Since being in school I have learned so much! I can’t pinpoint just one thing. I just know I want to continue learning and implementing ABA practices to help my clients succeed.
What does a typical day look like for you?
A typical day for me starts by getting ready for my sessions and awaiting the arrival of my clients. I’ll see 1-2 clients a day, then its home to work on my studies.
What interested you initially about this type of work?
I became interested in ABA therapy mainly because of my love for working with children. I used to be a preschool teacher, and I loved it, but I knew I wanted to do more to help children. Working with children on the spectrum has sparked a passion within me that makes me want to learn more about ASD and what I can do to help more children.
What puts a smile on your face?
Knowing that one day my clients can live a successful and more independent life. The best part of my week is spending time with my clients. I enjoy seeing those little faces every day and knowing I am helping to make a difference in their lives.
We’d love to introduce you to Daisha and all of our wonderful ABA therapists at Innovative Behavior Options! If you think you or your child could benefit from ABA therapy, give us a call at (770) 250-0093 ext.700 or drop us a line at firstname.lastname@example.org.
