When choosing an applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy practice for your child, you’ll probably spend some time learning about the therapy center and the team’s approach to ABA therapy (it should be individualized!). You’ll also learn about the team’s credentials and licenses and how they plan to interact with your child’s home and school environments.
But you also probably want to know about the RBTs and BCBAs who will so regularly be working with your child. At Innovative Behavior Options, we’re proud to work with a truly talented and outstanding staff! Here on the blog, we’ve been spotlighting some of our dedicated, caring, and highly capable team members to give you a chance to get to know the talent we have here. Today, we’d like to introduce you to Kevin, a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) with a passion for serving others.
ABA Therapy Center Staff Spotlight
Can you tell us a little about yourself?
I’m a native of Dallas, Texas, but I’ve been living in the Atlanta area for 21 years now. I formerly worked in banking and state government for many years prior to attending seminary and becoming an ordained minister in 2010. In August 2019, I joined IBO as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT).
What does a typical day look like for you?
I serve children from 8:30 am until 6:30 pm, traveling to provide in-home therapy to one morning client and one afternoon client on weekdays and even some Saturdays.
I began my role as an RBT because of a personal pursuit of work that helps others – especially children – to improve the quality of their lives.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
The best part is witnessing improvements (occasionally even break-throughs) in life skills of children we work with!
Although I have to say, sometimes the highlight of my week is the opportunity to rest after a long one. I’m not as young as I once was!
What causes are you passionate about?
Very truly, helping and serving others.
What puts a smile on your face?
The joy of daily living. Being alive each day normally puts a smile on my face.
Kevin’s passion for helping others shines through, and we’re so fortunate to have him as part of our team here at IBO! If you’re interested in learning more about ABA therapy or working with one of our wonderful ABA therapists, like Kevin, check out our website or give us a call at 770-250-0093.
